Anyone who looks at Becca’s resume might think she’s a bit of a flight risk! Having been to all seven continents and lived on four, she considers herself to be sort of a global citizen but when she was ready to put down roots she knew that only Halifax was the place for her.
Becca started at Time + Space in our Reception/Office Assistant position but quickly showed her adaptability by assisting in our Accounting department and surprised even herself that she had quite the knack for it! Now taking over the Payables and Receivables role, she’ll get to use her organizational abilities along with this new skill set.
Becca holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Since graduating she has spent over ten years traveling and working all over the globe. Her love of travel started when she spent four years working on a ship traveling through Central America and Alaska. She has since lived for a year each in Japan, Ireland, and New Zealand.
Before moving to Halifax she worked for Semester at Sea circumnavigating around the world five times on a floating university with over 700 college students and faculty.
Becca’s role as Field Office Coordinator with Semester at Sea, where she was on call 24/7, has positioned her to take on any task within Time + Space with ease and grace. If she can host Archbishop Desmond Tutu for four months on a ship while coordinating logistics for visiting over 15 countries, she can certainly keep our accounting department functioning in tip top shape.
